Ralyn Speerly Schraceo, Crafter
Under The Rainbow, Owner
I learned to crochet at the age of 4, while getting my tonsils out. It was intended to only keep me out of the nurses hair, but I was having fun. My love for crafting was further encouraged by both of my grandmothers. I dabbled in just about every type of craft that I could get my hands on. I began Under The Rainbow in 1989, as Ralyn Speerly, Specialty Gifts. I legally registered our company name in 1993 after a customer had asked what all I made and sold. My reply was, "everything under the rainbow," and it stuck. I was encouraged by a dear friend to incorporate my own crafts into the company, then later began to take in other Crafter's items at a stationary little spot in Yorkville, IL. I ended up shutting down due to moving and lack of a reasonably priced location. I still sold specialty gifts and my crafts from my home and by stocking local restaurants and gas stations. I knew there just had to be a better way -- My dream of an online craft mall began. I diligently started teaching myself web design, which is the reason you are looking at these pages today. I probably spend more time on web design these days than my other crafts, but I love what I'm doing - after all, web design is simply another form of crafting. My goal is to help other crafters market their crafts affordably on the internet.
Feedback: "Oh Ralyn that is gorgeous. Thank you so much" ~ Venessa Last Feedback: "The slippers, 4 pairs were wonderful and your customer service couldn't be better. The order was placed and you shipped unbelievably quickly. Additionally, you asked if I had special needs. I mentioned that three pair were for three grandsons in one family. Not only did you size them for each child but you also made sure each was slightly different..and coordinated them with their hair color. I was delighted and the moms were delighted... And by the way...my fourth grandson cried when his mom tried to take them off of him. Your slippers and other crafts are the best...and so are you. Thanks so much!" ~ Diane Smith |

| Helen Emerson, Crafter
Gibsonville, NC
Helen has been crafting for 30+ years and has tried it all. Lately she has stayed more with the crafts that are easier to get supplies for, but loves to sew, scrap book, make cards, paint pottery, cook, read, and surf the web.
Having been a Pre-school teacher for 25+ years, she now works part time as a manager for a child care center -- and yes, they do crafts. Selling her crafts is fairly new to Helen; she has always crafted mainly for gift giving in the past. She is using part of the profits to help supply the craft supplies used for the children attending the child care center (about 11, 4-5 year olds).
Feeling the "empty nest" syndrome, Helen and her husband decided to return to college and are now dorm parents to about 40-50 lucky students. Helen's husband is studying to be a youth minister and is expected to graduate in 2006. May God Bless us All and help them continue nurturing our youth . . .

Cindy Powers, Crafter
Brain-a-thon Emporium, Owner East Hartford, CT
I'm a home schooling mom to my 4 children, ages 12, 15, 19, and 21. I live in Connecticut and have been married for 21 years to Peter. My husband is sole proprietor of his home improvement business, and I run my own educational book/software/games/kits company, BRAIN-athon Emporium from home. I LOVE to crochet in the evenings, sitting with my husband as he 'flips through the channels' °Ü°. Under the Rainbow is a wonderful place to showcase my available items. I love to try new things other than my afghans, so I will also have doilies, scarves, whimsical slippers, and other items available as time allows. Keep checking back to see what's new!
Feedback: "I just wanted to let you know that the blanket is soooooo wonderful! My dad saw the internet photo before it was mailed and made me promise I'd give it to him for a Christmas gift.... Then I got in the mail yesterday and regret making that promise. It is really a piece of artwork!" ~ Doniel Franklin |

| Mary Jacobs, Crafter
Marietta, OK
I am a High School Computer Teacher. I have been happily married for 27 years. I have 2 sons and a wonderful daughter-in-law. I will be having my first grandchild around Christmas and can't wait. I enjoy trying all kinds of crafts. The majority of what I have to sell right now came from my mother. We used to do craft shows together until she passed away 3 years ago from a brain tumor. I miss her and do not want to do craft shows without her. I do want others to enjoy the many things she created with love and found this site and decided to give it a try. Mom loved sharing her talents with anyone she met, and I know a special part of her goes with anything she created. I just want to share her talents with others. Thanks for looking!!

Marj Boros, Crafter
MJ's Designs, Owner East Moline, IL
Hi! I'm Marj of MJ's Designs. After 30 years of office administration and legal secretarial work - plus making and teaching ceramics for 5 years, I am now doing various crafts. I live in a senior apartment building in East Moline, IL. I keep busy with our Community Club and enjoy Wii bowling and bingo. I am in a Hoveround due to a leg amputation -so doing crafts helps to keep me busy. I make various pillows, neck rests, sachets, etc. I like to do embroidery work and decorate plastic canvas bracelets. We have a monthly craft show at our building. I have a son, daughter-in-law and 4 grandchildren living about an hour and a half away; plus my dear friend of almost 6 years, David, who lives nearby. Dispite being disabled, life is good. My friend, Rachael, helps by running the sewing machine, as that is rather hard to do in my Hoveround, plus it is fun to have someone to work with.

TheCraftyGrannie, Owner Verona, MO
Hi, I'm a 62 y/o semi-retired nurse, still work 2 days a week and bead what ever time I have left. I have had 6 children, 5 boys and one girl, and 16 grandchildren. Just started beading a few months ago and fell in love. Never dreamed I could make something so pretty, hope you agree.
Try to make one of a kind items, if you would like something custom made, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Most of my necklaces are made for us larger women, but if you need one a certain size, I will try my best to adjust it.

I am a nurse and a new mother. I sew baby bibs and burp rags, as well as nursing covers. I have tons of fabrics to choose from. I also enjoy stamping and scrapbooking. I started sewing "baby stuff" when my sister was expecting, convinced there were better options with fabrics than what they offer in stores. Various friends told me I should start selling so I'm giving it a shot!
